Artists, musicians get a boost from state grants to boost industry hit hard by coronavirus
GREEN BAY - A string quartet will be able to continue to work with more than 100 school-age musicians in Green Bay.

Up to 15 new murals will be painted by local artists in Portage County.

Those are just two of nine arts programs statewide that will be supported by Wisconsin`s new We`re All In Creative Workforce Program, a grant program aimed at supporting artists and other creative economy workers during the coronavirus pandemic. The grants were announced Thursday.

A grant to the Griffon String Ensemble, a program run by Door County`s Midsummer`s Music, will allow it to continue working with strings musicians in Green Bay middle schools. The instruction is virtual right now and covers music theory, appreciation, history and performance....
