WEDC’s $2,500 COVID-19 relief grants now available
Small businesses impacted by COVID-19 can now apply for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s $75 million grant program.

The “We’re All In” grant offers small businesses $2,500 grants, which can be used for health and safety improvements to reopen, wages, salaries, rent, mortgage payments, and inventory.

The online application became available this morning at 8 a.m. and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on June 23, WEDC recently announced. Grant eligibility requirements include businesses with 20 or fewer full-time employees and with an annual revenue of less than $1 million...

Ken Notes: First Thank You. But I am wondering if we would not be better served by using funds to offset interest on loans which would seem to allow for more leverage. At 2.5% the State could partner with banks to offer $100,000 interest free loan for a year. The banks would also provide the due diligence that the state will never be able to preform. Like the payment of unemployment benefits to those not truly eligible, the $2,500 will most definitely find there way to those not qualified to actually receive them and you really can not blame WEDC for this they are reviewing thousands of applications with limited staff.
