ADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Evers ordered lawmakers to convene for a special session to vote on a package of bills to address the state`s dairy crisis.

Republican leaders support finding ways to help farmers, but they doubt they`ll convene stating the timeline to review the bills is too short.

The governors initiatives include; creating a Wisconsin initiative for dairy exports with a goal increasing dairy exports to 20% of the country’s milk supply by 2024, provide research assistance to farmers at no cost, providing mental health services to support farmers, giving small dairy processing plants priority when issuing state grants, and a new program to connect local farms with more businesses to purchase their food....
