Some Elected Officials Say Project Will Not Bring Enough Jobs To City

The Milwaukee Common Council will meet next month to begin the process of moving Komatsu Mining Corp. into the city.

The $285-million project includes a headquarters and manufacturing facility along the Milwaukee River in the city`s Harbor District neighborhood. As part of the deal, the city would create a $25-million financing package based on job creation and a $15-million financing package for a new, nearly mile-long riverwalk.
