Major development and jobs announcement involving Komatsu at Milwaukee`s Harbor District Thursday

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and other officials will gather Thursday at the harbor-side Solvay Coke site in Milwaukee to announce a major job-creating development involving heavy equipment manufacturer Komatsu Ltd.

Although it is not specified in a notice obtained by the Milwaukee Business Journal Wednesday, the press conference is likely to announce Komatsu`s intent on building a large facility on the 46-acre property with hundreds of new jobs. The Milwaukee Business Journal in July reported that the international company was in talks over a major office and manufacturing development on the waterside property...
